Library Day Vibes

We're in the library today! Room 216 A, which is upstairs.

If you missed class today -- make sure you talk to one of your peers to find out what we did, and if you have any additional questions let me know on Friday!

Homework

1. Complete a memo addressed to my supervisor, Dr. Blalock, explaining what you have learned today during the Library session. In your memo answer the following questions:

What did you learn today from the librarian about research and the EBSCO Discovery Log?

How does the EBSCO Discovery Log compare to using Google for research?

How was the library visit helpful in understanding research and your own research process?

Why is this visit to the library, and the EBSCO Discovery Log, essential to the ENGL 1302 classroom?

Remember that this is addressed to my supervisor, so consider your audience and genre when writing. Also keep in mind purpose, which is discussed in your reading of Naming What We Know. The goal in this letter is that you are proving how this class is beneficial to your learning and understanding of rhetoric and composition. Save the document in your OneDrive folder and title the memo "LibraryVisitMemo".

2. Remember to work on your Getting to Know You Project. This week your prompt is a "free prompt" where I'm letting you write about whatever you want to write about. If you can't handle the freedom and need a topic, let me know. But I'd rather give you the freedom to choose this week.

3. Make sure you're working on your research -- and add today's work in the library to your Discovery Log!!
