When Monday is out for blood...
Learning Outcome
Demonstrate the ability to locate, read, evaluate, select and use (integrate) effectively information from appropriate sources with your own ideas.
Habit of Mind
Flexibility is fostered when writers are encouraged to approach writing assignments in multiple ways, depending on the task and the writer’s purpose and audience; and reflect on the choices they make in light of context, purpose, and audience.
To Do List
10 Minute Writing Warm Up
Reflect on last week, and this weekend. How did last week go for you? Did you have a good weekend? Are you ready for what this week is bringing your way? Feeling ready for the lab on Thursday?
Establishing Groups
Reading Discussion
Get into your new groups and discuss the reading of the 6 Literacy Frameworks that I had you read over the weekend. How did it go? Where did you struggle, and where did you find connections?
Proposal Workshop
Work individually on your proposal for your final project. If you have any questions, let me know.
Homework
Read Threshold Concepts 3.2 and 4.3 in Naming What We Know and answer the following questions. Save your answers in a Word Document in your OneDrive folder, titled "NWWKReadingResponse7"
Threshold 3.2 discusses how our writing processes vary depending upon our histories and personalities. Do you agree with what the threshold concept discusses? Why, or why not? Provide examples of how your writing can be different from others based upon your history, process, and identity.
Threshold 4.3 talks about the need for time, process, and effort to help us succeed as writers. Do you agree, or disagree? Do you feel that your time, process, and effort that you put into your writing is strong, or are there things that you need to work on? Explain your answer and give examples from your own writing experience.
How do threshold concepts 3.2 and 4.3 apply to what we are reading, discussing, and working on in this class?
Continue to work on your Discovery Log
Your prompt this week for your Getting to Know Me Project is "What is your greatest fear?" Have fun with it and get creative. Don't do the basic paragraph. Work a story, video, song, or something else into this. Make this a multimodal post.
